December 10, 2021 – In pre-COVID times, just under half of all engagements occurred during what wedding industry professionals call ‘Engagement Season,’ the weeks between Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day. In 2020, although engagements still happened during those months, some unexpected dates topped the popularity calendar, including July 4th, when people could safely gather outside with friends and family thanks to warmer weather.
This year, with almost all COVID restrictions lifted, people are once again planning larger holiday festivities to make up for last year’s low-key ones. In front of friends and extended family members, more people are getting ready to pop the big question during the holidays.

Yellow and pink diamonds, which have always been two of the most popular colored diamonds, continue to be in high demand. Those with bigger budgets are asking him to acquire rarer colored diamonds on their behalf, including green, blue and purple. Customers are seeking out higher-quality diamonds and want to ensure that the stones they purchase are ethically sourced. They are also only interested in diamonds with certifications from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) or other reputable grading agencies.
He has also noticed two overriding design trends. Consumers are showing interest in both antique-inspired designs and less traditional engagement settings, which feature intricate custom designs meant to reflect the couple’s unique journey or personalities.
