Schneider Electric modernises EcoStruxure IT Software for complex IT infrastructure
Schneider Electric has announced the modernisation of its EcoStruxure IT software portfolio. This update addresses the escalating complexity of hybrid IT infrastructure, recognising the growing importance of edge deployments for business continuity.
With the expansion of IT infrastructure, maintaining resiliency, security, and sustainability from endpoints to data centres is paramount. EcoStruxure IT introduces software tools that cater to these demands. Moreover, sustainability is emerging as a crucial concern, with companies needing to measure and manage energy consumption and carbon footprint. Schneider Electric’s internal projections anticipate that by 2040, data centre energy consumption will reach 2,700 TWh, with 60% coming from distributed sites and 40% from data centres.
EcoStruxure IT modernises the monitoring, management, planning, and modelling of IT physical infrastructure. It offers deployment options, including on-prem and cloud-based solutions, to support hybrid, distributed IT setups. Kevin Brown, SVP of EcoStruxure Solutions, Secure Power at Schneider Electric, refers to this evolution as “DCIM 3.0,” emphasising the increased capabilities and flexibility offered by EcoStruxure IT.
Sachin Bhalla, VP of Secure Power Division for India and SAARC at Schneider Electric, underscored the significance of resilient, secure, and sustainable IT infrastructure in the Indian IT industry.
