Department of Health Services Los Angeles County, together with partners, the Union of American Physicians and Dentists, is actively recruiting various physician jobs in Los Angeles to provide healthcare services to the community
LADHS’s mission is to advance the health of patients and communities by providing extraordinary care and by empowering physicians looking for part-time, full-time, and permanent doctor job opportunities in Los Angeles throughout the county’s hospital system. Open positions include opportunities for advanced practitioners, health care executives, and senior-level positions at county-wide health centers, including LAC-USC Medical Center, Harbor UCLA Medical Center, H. Claude Hudson Health Center, Hubert H. Humphrey Comprehensive Health Center, and others around the county. LADHS has operated public clinics and hospitals across Los Angeles County for more than a half-century. It is the 2nd largest municipal system for healthcare in the United States. The integrated system comprises 28 health centers, four hospitals, and partnerships with community-based clinics. DHS care extends to more than 800,000 patients annually at an operating budget of $6.2 billion. DHS employs more than 23,000 staff.
About LADHS
The primary function of DHS is healthcare for adults, juveniles and inmates in county jails, and children in foster care. Through academic affiliation with USC, UCLA, and CDU, DHS hospitals serve as training locations for doctors completing graduate-level medical education in almost every medical specialty and subspecialty. In addition to direct services, DHS operates the LA County (EMS) Agency, the county’s 911 emergency response system, and community programs, including the Office of Diversion and Re-entry and Housing for Health. Each is an important provider in connecting vulnerable populations with supportive housing.
