Seattle-Based Startup Bounce Health Creates the Next Generation of Telehealth Platforms

Bounce Health introduces the future of patient care through algorithms, AI and automation.

As demand for healthcare increases, most recently accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s no secret that telehealth has seen an enormous increase in demand. However, physicians, medical practices, and patients for that matter are unable to take full advantage of the benefits of most telehealth and telemedicine solutions on the market. They are limited by complex and inflexible legacy electronic health records (EHR) systems that add friction or entirely block the ability to streamline patient intake and treatments.

Time is also a major factor. Physicians and their staff are simply too busy to take on yet another channel and platform to onboard and treat patients. In fact, paperwork and entering patient information is viewed as one of the biggest painpoints for physicians and their staff, often taking up to 40% of the physician’s time when that time is best spent caring for patients. When looking at the bigger picture, every tiny bit of information included in medical records can help in diagnosis and treatment especially during emergencies. Unfortunately, due to heavy workloads, mistakes are made and some patient information may not be captured and factored into diagnoses and treatment.

To answer the call to streamline, scale and automate patient care, Bounce Health was created. Bounce Health is a Seattle-based telehealth startup and platform developed by physicians, medical professionals and former technology executives and engineers from companies such as Microsoft, T-Mobile and Pfizer. The Platform, a multicloud framework, is a lightweight, modular HIPAA compliant EHR platform that leverages the power of cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI) features to enable a new array of telehealth experiences.

Unlike other platforms, Bounce banks on automation as its core differentiator. Specifically, their automation features allow healthcare professionals the ability to automate patient experiences such as intake, diagnosis, and treatments, including but not limited to writing and delivering prescription medications.

According to Bryan Guy, Co-founder and Head of Product — “The Telehealth industry is exploding in demand and technological maturity but there is still much more to be done to ensure that patient needs are being met and that health services can delivered anytime, anywhere.”

He continues: “The writing was on the wall so we created our vision of Telehealth 3.0 – a solution we define as the combination of algorithms, AI and automation to hyper- personalize and automate a multitude of patient experiences, from intake to treatment.”

Says Dr. Abe Rice, a Bay Area physician and customer of Bounce: “The (Bounce) Platform gives me the ability to serve more patients while continuing to offer them a virtual experience that rivals an in-person visit.” He adds, “Bounce gives me the opportunity to automate patient care in an effort to improve the patient experience while also providing a means to sustainably grow my practice.”
