Sports Tech Startup gameSense Sports Launches Equity Campaign

Denver, Colo. – January 11, 2021 – Sports tech startup gameSense Sports, makers of cognitive fitness programs for athletes at all levels, has launched an equity crowdfunding campaign on the WeFunder platform.

Led by a team of world-renowned sports scientists and sports technology entrepreneurs, gameSense uses convenient mobile technology to supercharge athletes’ cognitive skills, including fast reactive decision-making that “slows” the play down. Initial applications focus on pitch recognition for baseball and softball players and serve recognition for tennis players, with plans to expand to other aspects of those sports and to other sports as well, including esports. GameSense programs are designed to benefit athletes at all levels, from youth leagues to the pros.

“Just a few decades ago, strength training was not a common, let alone mandatory, part of an overall training program in most sports,” says gameSense CEO and co-founder Tom Pardikes. “Now, if you don’t do strength training, there’s no way you’d keep up other with other athletes. The brain is the next frontier. Training your brain teaches invisible skills that can truly transform your game.”

GameSense secured one of ten spots out of hundreds worldwide in the prestigious Techstars inaugural SportsTech Accelerator, whose partners include Tennis Australia, Victoria University, and LaunchVic. The gameSense app is currently in use by Major League Baseball teams, including the Cincinnati Reds and the Oakland Athletics; over 100 college teams, including the University of Connecticut and Texas State University; Olympic teams; and international sporting federations.

While used effectively at sports’ most competitive levels, gameSense apps are designed for players at any level, from age 10 on up, making high-performance tech available to all. GameSense has demonstrated that just 15 minutes a day of their cognitive training can dramatically improve on-field performance by over 20 percent. The gameSense program is designed to complement traditional training methods and has the benefit of being injury-proof and accessible to any player, from any location.

“This is the future of training,” says Pardikes. “Our tech allows you to up your game, in-between games, no matter the weather, the time, or your physical condition. The COVID-19 pandemic has limited how athletes at all levels could train and compete, but gameSense helps keep players sharp and engaged in the midst of disruptions.”
