Tourism Fiji Partners with Trip.com Group to Launch a Pre-sale Campaign for the Celebration of 50th Fiji Day

 

Shanghai, China – Tourism Fiji in partnership with Trip.com Group, a leading international online travel agency, to launch a destination pre-sale campaign to celebrate the 50th of Fiji Day. The campaign aims to leverage the anniversary celebration opportunity to launch the Fijian hotel pre-sale promotion on Trip.com on 10 October lasting 4 weeks, with the goal of driving sales to Fijian tourism industry partners.

Tourism Fiji in partnership with Fiji Airways, enhanced cooperation in the tourism sector through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with Trip.com Group last year. Covid-19 has brought vast and unprecedented disruptions to the travel industry, and in response Tourism Fiji has been working with Trip.com Group to adopt new approaches to help partners navigate the rapidly changing landscape.

This presale campaign all comes with a flexible booking guarantee supported by Fijian tourism industry partners, another initiative to mitigate the uncertainty and restore confidence in travel. In the theme of 50th Fiji Day’s celebration to commemorate this milestone in Fiji’s history, the campaign will be promoted through both Trip.com Group’s online and offline channels including digital, social media, live stream, influencer engagement and events to drive future bookings to Fijian industry partners.

Commenting on the partnership, Tourism Fiji’s CEO Matthew Stoeckel said, “China is already Fiji’s fourth largest market and has significant potential to further contribute towards Fiji’s tourism economy. The further partnership with Trip.com Group provides us with the opportunity to stay connected to potential travellers in China. During these challenging times, our team continues to explore new approaches to prepare for the recovery of the market once travel restrictions start to ease.”

Last month, Tourism Fiji partnered with Trip.com Group to promote a livestream session hosted by Co-founder and Chairman of Trip.com Group James Liang, to enhance users’ confidence and inspirations while they start to plan their future trips to Fiji post Covid-19. With regular pandemic control measures in place, the domestic tourism market has been gradually restored, providing cause for confidence in the demand for leisure travel.
